How Does It Work

Unlike helicopters, the rotors on a gyroplane aren’t powered by the engine. Instead, a gyroplane rotor system operates in autorotation, creating lift as air moves through the free spinning rotors. The engine powers a rear propeller, providing thrust that pushes the gyroplane through the air and allows it to climb. It’s like magic, but with science!

Your journey begins at our base at Kona International Airport, where you’ll meet your experienced instructor and prepare for an unforgettable adventure. We’ll start with a brief safety overview and an introduction to gyroplane flight concepts. You’ll learn about the aircraft, its operation, and what to expect during your flight

Taking to the Skies

Once familiar with the basics, it’s time to get cleared for take off! As we lift off, you'll immediately be treated to stunning views of the Kona coast. Feel the excitement as we soar above crystal-clear waters, and the rugged beauty of volcanic landscapes

Exploring Kailua-Kona

During your flight experience, we’ll explore some of the most breathtaking sights around Kailua-Kona. Depending on your chosen flight duration, we might fly over dense forests, black sand beaches or even spot humpback whales during winter

Learning to Fly

Not only will you enjoy the incredible scenery, but you’ll also take the controls and learn the basics of flying a gyroplane. Under the guidance of your instructor, you’ll discover the joy of open-cockpit flying and the ease of maneuvering this amazing aircraft
